Sunergos Community Vision

We all have visions of the community we would like
to live in. Communities are not just building and places we live. It is also about
what are in our hearts. Sunergos is the Greek word for working together. This is my
vision of the community I would like to be part of.
At Sunergos you will find that people are:
1.. separate and connected
2. interdependent but individually responsible
3. committed to win/win, co-operation, and mutual
respect
4. tolerant of diversity and accountable for their own
individual behavior
5. live in harmony with the environment (Eg., will eat
foods in season, etc.,)
6. have an inclusive view not an exclusive view
7. committed to being productive rather than
destructive
8. will not use toxic chemicals, instruments of
violence, or destructive behavior.
9. focusing upon encouraging positive behaviors in
others while being committed to seeking and working upon their own
imperfections.
10. seeking to have power over their own behavior and
allowing others to have power over their own behavior.
11. seek control of and responsibility for their own
bio-unit.
12. committed to communicate with others by listening,
trying to understand, and allowing them to find their own way.
13. committed to open, honest communication which only
allows for expression of their views but not control of other's views.
14. seeking changes they would like without trying to
coerce others to change or act in their specific way.
15. speaking directly to others with whom they may have
an issue without trying to rally others against them from behind their
back.
16. willing to share the power and the load.
17. committed to democratic principles.
18. assuming responsibility for their own behaviors.
19. not expecting others to provide them with a custom
made service; but, are committed to resolving and taking responsibility
for their own problem's solutions.
20. not attempting to impose their personal agenda and
views upon anyone else.
21. truthful, honest, respectful, tolerant, patient,
and caring.
22. giving input and developing community norms that
they are willing to live by.
23. committed to moderation in living and acting in
their environment.
24. not relinquishing their responsibility for their
own behavior to anyone else (NO JONES TOWN, NO NUERNBERG
DEFENSE)
25. aware that if they cannot not live in harmony with
others that they will not remain in membership in Sunergos.
26. committed to sticking with others through both
difficult and easy times.
27. aware that trust is earned by honoring and
respecting the uniqueness of others .
28. open to seeking and respecting truth/Truth.
SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU IF:
1. you can only find the negative in life and are not interested in resolving conflicts. SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU.
2. you are into blame, being a victim, and unhappy with others. SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU.
3. you are into bullying others. SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU.
4. you are not interested in restoring life to and living in harmony with the planet. SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU.
5. you have no self-discipline. SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU.
6. your heart is filled with hate, anger, and bitterness. SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU.
7. you think someone else is responsible for your happiness, failures, or whatever. SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU..
8. you are looking for perfection in other places, other people, or other kingdoms. SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU.
9. you think you can reap the benefits of others efforts without giving any effort yourself. SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU.
10. you do not value the uniqueness of all beings. SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU.
11. you think that you can get away from or wall out
people, problems, or any undesirable experience. SUNERGOS IS NOT
FOR YOU.
12. you think freedom is having no limitations or
that restricting everyone else's behavior will solve your problems.
SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU.
13. you measure your success based upon the failures of others. SUNERGOS IS NOT FOR YOU!
SUNERGOS PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT
Sunergos is a community that seeks to reconcile
opposites in a way that brings about balance, justice, and unity.. It is about
diverse people working together to create harmony upon
this planet. Our agenda is co-operation, mutual benefit from mutual
support, a moderate, positive life style, and seeking
harmony and peace with the planet. We practice democracy. We are not
for unilateral thinking but believe that we must
develop some common goals. We are resolving conflicts and working together
because we realize that our differences are
complementary and give us strength. We believe we get our strength from our
individual uniqueness. We configure our
interrelationships to be interactive but not domineering so as not to extinguish the
uniqueness of others. We view our connection as a
willingness to interact and be mutually supportive. In our community the
individual will be empowered to reflect his or her
unique light but never at the expense of the greater good.
