INTRODUCTION
WELCOME.
My name is Don Richard Paladin. I have chemical sensitivity. When I came across Dr. Mercola's review on some new research regarding childhood leukemia, it all seemed to fit into that great puzzle I have been trying to put together for myself. I had also learned about a former student who had developed leukemia at seventeen. For me the common factor was toxic chemicals. My chronic illness of chemical sensitivity and his of cancer. Then it hit me: WE CANNOT DETOXIFY THESE TOXIC SYNTHETIC POISONS. We just have DIFFERENT ways of reflecting the problem.
I sent out the review of the research, and my reactions to it, to others on the discussion lists to which I belong. Then it clicked that I had been getting lots of electronic chain mail that I was always forwarding. It was time that I created a link and sent out my own e-chain.
I have often thought all the years that I missed the family special occasions that what I wanted most was for someone to spend some time trying to turn this whole toxic planet around so that it would be accessible to me, too. In fact, I told an MCS friend I had thought of telling my friends and family not to get me any gifts any more, just spend some time doing something like writing a congressman or complaining to the mayor about the weed abatement program that made my journey to family gatherings impossible. I figured if my one voice could become a thunder of voices, SOME of the politicians and manufacturers would get the message. They are bean counters. They don't always do what is RIGHT but what will help them get the most "beans."
I figured if I could get my own chain of action network started so that others were aware of the plight of millions of us on this planet made ill from the synthetic poisons, we could turn this planet back into a place we could all live. My rationale was that I would have at least two solid links who would have their solid links ... and so on until the whole planet figured out that WE HAVE A PROBLEM HERE and CHANGED it. I knew Pareto's Law and that I would have to send out to at least ten people to get two people who would be solid links in my ACTION E-CHAIN. So I anticipate both soft links and solid links to others. That is just the nature of human interactions. We have to allow others to chose their own directions and agendas. Respect just works that way.
I had watched the process of the power of connection and word of mouth before. When you tell someone about a great restaurant or warn about a bad movie, that is the power of connection and word of mouth. Your friends and family trust you and have a connection with you. Many multi-level marketers use this phenomena to sale their products in an interconnected and mutually beneficial marketing pyramid. Unfortunately some marketing networks are more like economic chain gangs than those found naturally in mutually respectful human interactions.
The E-CHAIN ACTION I envision has to be based upon the same kind of respect and bonds that we all have with our family and friends. It has to be based upon a view that we want to be co-creators of a more optimum environment for all. We want to tell them about that which is best for them and help them avoid that which is harmful. This group is not about primary personal economic gain. We aren't selling each other anything. We are just passing along the word of mouth wisdom we have to others that we love and trust as they will to us.
The focus of this E-CHAIN ACTION Network is about restoring the planet to a safe and non-toxic place to live. The goal will be to encourage the market place and government to produce products, make laws, and foster an environment in which we live with the wisdom of nature. It is one thing to tell others what is wrong, but we must ask for specific positive alternatives. There are no problems without solutions.
People don't even have to do anything major. Every little drop of action like rain drops has a cumulative effect. If they did something simple like ask the green grocer to carry organic food... that would send an important message. You might even have a friend or two who have a passion about the environment. Ask those who are your friends and family and love you to do something on the special occasions that will really change your life around. We need their strength and numbers to send a message to the poison hustlers and their codependent enablers that we want safe alternatives to the poisons they are creating. I hope you will take time to create your own E-CHAIN ACTION network. In our action chain we are not marketing anything. We are the market place seeking safe alternatives. We are chained together by love, respect, and a common desire to make this a more livable planet.
